Tovero, also known as tobero, is a mixed pattern made up of tobiano and overo. A tovero horse may not always exhibit tobiano or overo markings, or may have a combination of the two. Like both tobiano and overo, tovero markings can so extensive to cover the entire body, or be very minimal.

- Dark ears, sometimes called "medicine hat" or "war bonnet"
- Dark pigmentation covering the ears that extends over the face
- Dark pigmentation around the mouth
- Blue eyes or heterochromia
- Chest and flank spots in varying sizes
- Spots at the base of the tail
Genes that are in bold are active on the coat. Genes that are underlined are genes that the horse may carry, but will have no visible effect on the coat.
